In the 8th minute of the match Sebastião Leal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dasep Rahwana skillfully saved the ball. 11 minutes into the game, FC Barcelona's Raimundo Rodrigues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dasep Rahwana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Serginho Mandrak hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Amílton Penha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldinho de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Célio Leme's late challenge caught a ☯☯PaLMeiRaS F.C.☯☯'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Célio Leme helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Célio Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ☯☯PaLMeiRaS F.C.☯☯'s Ronaldinho de Carvalho came free and shot a quick shot against goal 18 minutes in the game, fortunately Amílton Penha had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The supporters of ☯☯PaLMeiRaS F.C.☯☯ booed when FC Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldinho de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Penha having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, ☯☯PaLMeiRaS F.C.☯☯'s Ronaldinho de Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amílton Penha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 36 minutes in the game, Ronaldinho de Carvalho fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Amílton Penha having to interfere. When Raimundo Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the FC Barcelona fans jumped to their feet. Luisão Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Amílton Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Augusto Vargas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronaldinho de Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Amílton Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ☯☯PaLMeiRaS F.C.☯☯. After 82 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Silvério de Carvalho. Amílton Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
