When Duarte Galvão got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Levante Comunista. Lucas Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Levante Comunista's Laércio Messias got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Pedro Paulo Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Emerson Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedro Paulo Mangueira firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 37thth minute of the game Duarte Galvão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jatauba's Dé de Medeiros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. George Petru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Duarte Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lucas Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Caco de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Levante Comunista's supporters rose to their feet, but Caco de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charles Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cássio da Silveira to make the kick off. Duarte Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Dé de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dé de Medeiros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Abel Almeida. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Galvão in the 58th minute of play forced Jatauba's goalkeeper Dé de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes of play, Jatauba's Cássio da Silveira made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Paulo Mangueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lucas Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Paulo Mangueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Levante Comunista's Pedro Paulo Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio da Silveira in the 78th minute of play. Lucas Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Paulo Mangueira having to interfere. Pedro Paulo Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Lucas Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
