After a defensive mix-up in Paratudal's zone, Dionísio Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Aguiar came out of the goal and Dionísio Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute, Dionísio Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Poiri's Igor Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimundo Aguiar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Paratudal booed when Poiri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélio Sarmento's late challenge caught a Poiri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Poiri's Igor Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Augusto Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 23 played minutes Poiri got a freekick which was hit by Hílton Nunes. If Hélio Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Poiri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Paratudal's Pedro Augusto Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvinho Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Igor Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dionísio Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dionísio Eger in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimundo Aguiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Paratudal's Júnior Ortiz got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Igor Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Raimundo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Reis struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Raimundo Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poiri. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélio Sarmento to strike the kick off in the second half. Igor Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Raimundo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Paratudal's goal looked a bit too open when Dionísio Eger came free, but Raimundo Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Nascimento during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Poiri! When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Paratudal's Elói Palmeira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Silvinho Salgado. Poiri's Igor Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hílton Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Raimundo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Paratudal defense, Dionísio Eger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundo Aguiar. The Paratudal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundo Aguiar should have stopped the shot. When Dionísio Eger came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Poiri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionísio Eger couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Paratudal's Alberto Jacinto got a free kick in the 77th minute. Paratudal's Raimundo Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionísio Eger in the 81st minute of play. Dionísio Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Raimundo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raimundo Aguiar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Raimundo Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Reis in the 98th minute of play.
