China SC's Otávio de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Bastos in the 12th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Josué Freire was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Frexeirinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave China SC the free kick. The supporters of China SC booed when Frexeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enéas Sena in the 28th minute of play forced Frexeirinha's goalkeeper Christiano Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Juninho Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michel Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enéas Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Christiano Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Manuel de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Frexeirinha's Vladimir Tasso got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juninho Bastos was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dário Passos during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, China SC's Dário Passos got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Otávio de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute Enéas Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christiano Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enéas Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Enéas Sena notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Frexeirinha's Christiano Moreno. Christiano Moreno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michel Siqueira struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Otávio de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frexeirinha. Hílton Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute.
