The referee ignored Ibiraiaras EC's protests and gave Giovanni Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ibiraiaras EC's Giovanni Baiano got a free kick in the 7th minute. With a little luck, Paulistano AC's Teodoro Saraiva got control of the ball when Serafim Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Vítor Nóbrega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paulistano AC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibiraiaras EC the free kick. Vítor Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ibiraiaras EC defense, Stoyan Naydenov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luciano Brodel. The Ibiraiaras EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luciano Brodel should have stopped the shot. In the 23rdth minute of the game Alfredinho Furtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibiraiaras EC's Luciano Brodel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teodoro Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute.
