Sarvuela were furious when Serafim de Senna was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 40th minute, one of Sarvuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sarvuela. Hílton Torres shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Anísio Leals short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Magno Veloso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 47th minute, Mané da Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chiquinho Veiga to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Dudu Martins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarvuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Superagui the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sarvuela's Dudu Martins got a free kick in the 54th minute. Falcão Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Magno Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Chiquinho Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcão Tróia struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Magno Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Superagui. The supporters of Superagui booed when Sarvuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sarvuela's Joaquim do Valle got a free kick in the 78th minute. Hílton Torres, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Superagui's Dalmo Paraibano got a free kick in the 81st minute. Sarvuela's Magno Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Leal in the 95th minute of play. Superagui's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
