An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Meireles in the 3rd minute of play forced Quarador's goalkeeper Luís Fernando do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmir Prata in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Fernando do Vale saved Quarador from getting behind. Luís Fernando do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir Prata in the 22nd minute of play forced Quarador's goalkeeper Luís Fernando do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Walmir Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fernando do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cacá de Andrade was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ademar Dante showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. Ademar Dante might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cacá de Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ademar Dante ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernão Goiano hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Luís Fernando do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Prata in the 33rd minute of play. Maurício Quintal's late challenge caught a Guararapes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurício Quintal helped the player get up and apologised. Luís Fernando do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Prata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Quarador's zone, Walmir Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando do Vale came out of the goal and Walmir Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thomás Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Luís Fernando do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Tião Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guararapes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tião Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomás Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Luís Fernando do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ademar Dante to strike the kick off in the second half. Arthur Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thomás Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edinho Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 played minutes Quarador got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Toscano. Fernão Goiano missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 65 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Luís Fernando do Vale right hand side. In the 73rd minute Arthur Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Trancoso hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Cacá de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Dante in the 80th minute of play. Arthur Trancoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cacá de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Walmir Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando do Vale having to interfere. Thomás Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Luís Fernando do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guararapes were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Quarador to leave the ground with a draw.
