The referee showed Doni da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd match minute, Itamatare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doni da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Robin Öhlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Amorim having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Itamatare's Jardel Borges got a free kick in the 9th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Luís Guilherme Meireles notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Itamatare's Hélio Amorim. Hélio Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Doni da Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Luís Guilherme Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Öhlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Amorim having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Barreto in the 25th minute of play forced SANTOS FC's goalkeeper Délio Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Itamatare booed when SANTOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin-Mario Maldonado didn't get a good kick on the ball. SANTOS FC's Délio Lopez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save SANTOS FC from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute, Eriberto Mazza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hélio Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Robin Öhlund took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hélio Amorim. Hélio Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Hélio Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Öhlund in the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Guilherme Meireles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Doni da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Lopez having to interfere. Doni da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Délio Lopez having to interfere. Serafim Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio Lopez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. SANTOS FC's Délio Lopez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni da Rocha in the 82nd minute of play. Doni da Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio Lopez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Benedito Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Öhlund struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Hélio Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTOS FC. When Luís Guilherme Meireles got free in front of the goal in the 91st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Hélio Amorim was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. SANTOS FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
