Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frank Damião got the match started through his kick off. After 6 played minutes Alfenas got a freekick which was hit by Christian de Alcântara. After 7 played minutes, Barrios AD's Gilberto Sá shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Washington Alves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barrios AD reached it. If Geovanni Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Gilberto Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrios AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alfenas the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Geovanni Recife made a precise shot to the right of Washington Alves. Alfenas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Frank Paraíba fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alfenas's protests and gave Frank Paraíba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Frank Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Alfenas getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Fonseca hit a great ball. Washington Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Alfenas's Washington Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Recife in the 34th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Geovanni Recife had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Washington Alves. Alfenas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovanni Recife was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When Manfredo Simões came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Barrios AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manfredo Simões couldn't finish the play. When Barrios AD's Frank Damião in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alfenas's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Barrios AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vágner Valadares to make the kick off. Geovanni Recife took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Washington Alves. Washington Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 62nd minute, Alfenas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frank Damião fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 67 minutes into the match, Vágner Valadares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Paulo Prestes. Barrios AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vágner Valadares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Vágner Valadares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alfenas's supporters rose to their feet, but Vágner Valadares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Paulo Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Washington Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vágner Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Paulo Prestes having to interfere. The supporters of Alfenas booed when Barrios AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanni Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Alves having to interfere. In the 95th minute Vágner Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Paulo Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vágner Valadares went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
