Paulo José Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Sandro Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Armando Vander came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Itatiayassu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Vander couldn't finish the play. C.R.Flamengo's Sandro Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Vander in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, C.R.Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Prado to maneuver through the defense. Tomé Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Armando Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itatiayassu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Leite in the 19th minute of play forced C.R.Flamengo's goalkeeper Sandro Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Hernani Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sandro Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 26th minute Hernani Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Vander in the 29th minute of the match. Sandro Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Vander's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, C.R.Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Leite came free, but Sandro Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Armando Vander notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of C.R.Flamengo's Sandro Guimarães. Sandro Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Armando Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Guimarães having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, C.R.Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Leite came free, but Sandro Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.R.Flamengo's Sandro Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Braga in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 53rd minute, Armando Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute Hernani Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Guimarães having to interfere. Sandro Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Vander in the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Hernani Leite's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandro Guimarães was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Sandro Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Leite in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, C.R.Flamengo's goalkeeper Sandro Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Vander. Hernani Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Vander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sandro Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Sandro Guimarães was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hernani Leite showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 82 minute of play. Hernani Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sandro Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute of the match, Armando Vander got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sandro Guimarães was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Itatiayassu FC played a much better game than C.R.Flamengo and deserved their victory. The C.R.Flamengo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
