After having played for 4 minutes, Zé Pedro Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jaibaras AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Pedro Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute of the match Hermínio Lima shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adelino Prestes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Jaibaras AD booed when Itatiayassu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Jaibaras AD fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Jaibaras AD's Bruno Vasconcelos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaibaras AD's goalkeeper Miguel dos Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 16 minutes, Hernani Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itatiayassu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernani Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Vander in the 22nd minute. Itatiayassu FC's Hernani Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Vander got free with Miguel dos Santos in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruno Vasconcelos scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adelino Prestes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Elivélton Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hernani Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 40 played minutes Jaibaras AD got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Severo. Armando Vander who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Miguel dos Santos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After 57 played minutes Jaibaras AD got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Soares. Miguel dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Miranda in the 58th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Hernani Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel dos Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a rather tough play, Itatiayassu FC's Paulo José Mazza got a free kick in the 64th minute. Itatiayassu FC's Armando Vander got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Leite in the 68th minute of play forced Jaibaras AD's goalkeeper Miguel dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernani Leite scored 3-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel dos Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Leite in the 74th minute of play forced Jaibaras AD's goalkeeper Miguel dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Miguel dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antônio Severo during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 81 minutes into the match, Jaibaras AD's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Leite came free, but Miguel dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Itatiayassu FC's Jânio Miranda tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Hernani Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Vander in the 92nd minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Márcio Braga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itatiayassu FC and the Jaibaras AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itatiayassu FC's Márcio Braga got a free kick in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Itatiayassu FC had won after a very even match.
