Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Vilense's Marcus Arósio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Donatello Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Paulo Rocha hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Inácio Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agenor Secco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dida Bastos came out and tried to block the shot, but Agenor Secco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. Vilense's Marcus Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donatello Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agenor Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Dida Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus Arósio struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Paulo José Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vilense. Paulo José Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Arósio in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Pescadores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agenor Secco to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Pescadores's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Dracena came free, but Paulo José Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Vilense's goalkeeper Dida Bastos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Paulo Rocha. After some careless play in the Vilense defense, Donatello Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dida Bastos. The Vilense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dida Bastos should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The supporters of Pescadores booed when Vilense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Hélder Andrade reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paulo José Simão. The goal made the score 2-1. Donatello Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Dida Bastos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donatello Azevedo in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Bastos saved Vilense from getting behind. Agenor Secco struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Dida Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pescadores. Vilense's Dida Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agenor Secco in the 71st minute of play. Dida Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agenor Secco in the 73rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Arósio during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Donatello Azevedo put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dida Bastos. 81 minutes into the match, Vilense's goal looked a bit too open when Agenor Secco came free, but Dida Bastos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agenor Secco in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Bastos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Pescadores booed when Vilense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donatello Azevedo in the 94th minute of play forced Vilense's goalkeeper Dida Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
