With his leg Carlos Augusto Bezerra managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Curunhu AD's Haroldo Moraes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giovani Zonta in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artur Tinoco saved Curunhu AD from getting behind. Manolo Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Carlos Augusto Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Haroldo Moraes made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Augusto Bezerra. Red River's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Álvaro Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manolo Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Hélder Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Augusto Bezerra, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Manolo Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manolo Galvão to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Curunhu AD's Kauan Trigo got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 56th match minute, Red River was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Arósio to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Red River's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Gaúcho came free, but Carlos Augusto Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manolo Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Carlos Augusto Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manolo Galvão's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Haroldo Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto Bezerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Moraes in the 95th minute of play forced Red River's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
