Donato Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Porto in the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Caloji's Ezequiel Baptista got a free kick in the 16th minute. David da Rocha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Donato Branco. Caloji's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 19th minute, Celsinho Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diamantino da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Donato Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Romero in the 24th minute of play forced Fiorentina FC's goalkeeper Júlio Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belchior Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belchior Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Caloji getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Belchior Medeiros hit a great ball. Fiorentina FC's Júlio Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Baptista in the 32nd minute of play. If Evandro Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Evandro Porto came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Fiorentina FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Porto couldn't finish the play. If Ezequiel Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ezequiel Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Thomás Barral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Júlio Arantes. Fiorentina FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Júlio Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Júlio Arantes made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Bernardinho Romero sent off a good shot on target. Bernardinho Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Júlio Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Diamantino da Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Fiorentina FC's goalie and right to Geraldo Pena. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Fiorentina FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ruy Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Branco having to interfere. Donato Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Porto in the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Bernardinho Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caloji's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardinho Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ruy Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. A hard shot 95 in the game by Bernardinho Romero from a close distance when the talented Júlio Arantes managed to make a qualified save. Fiorentina FC's players were relieved. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Caloji eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
