The referee ignored Moradas's protests and gave Erasmo Viana a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinei Prado in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulisses Lago saved Moradas from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilmar Paranaense during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Gilmar Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Prado to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Prado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulisses Lago was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Paraíba in the 89th minute of play forced Moradas's goalkeeper Ulisses Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
