Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomé Trigo took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Vergílio in the 3rd minute of play forced Mendanha's goalkeeper Zacarias Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Vergílio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zacarias Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Barreto. Mendanha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Nelsinho Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Zé Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelsinho Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Zacarias Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Manuel Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Cancela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Vergílio couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Vergílio during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Cancela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. José Maria Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Trigo in the 41st minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Vergílio made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Manuel Vergílio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cássio Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. José Maria Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mendanha's Cássio Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarias Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 played minutes Mendanha got a freekick which was hit by Américo Sampaio. In the 63rd match minute, Cancela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. 1-1 became the score in the 64th minute when Cássio Fontes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Vergílio in the 67th minute of play forced Mendanha's goalkeeper Zacarias Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Mendanha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cancela:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Vergílio in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zacarias Barreto saved Mendanha from getting behind. Nestor Moraes hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Laércio Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Vergílio in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zacarias Barreto saved Mendanha from getting behind. In the 84thth minute of the game Manuel Vergílio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mendanha's Zacarias Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zacarias Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Vergílio in the 87th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Tomé Trigo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Maria Jacinto, 1-2. 98 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Barreto. Mendanha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Cancela were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Mendanha to leave the ground with a draw.
