Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wiliam Pernambucano in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matías do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Australopitecos's Luís Guilherme Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Meirelles in the 29th minute of play. Australopitecos were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Goiaberira's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clemente Prestes took the corner. If Adilson Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the game, Wiliam Pernambucano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Matías do Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wiliam Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Matías do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Adilson Trigo made the kick off in the second half. Luan Sarmento's late challenge caught a Goiaberira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 53rd match minute, Australopitecos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luan Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Goiaberira defense, Adilson Trigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matías do Vale. The Goiaberira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matías do Vale should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Australopitecos getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. In the 66th minute of the match, Adilson Trigo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Matías do Vale saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 70th minute Oséas Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Guilherme Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Australopitecos's zone, Túlio Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Guilherme Castro came out of the goal and Túlio Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wiliam Pernambucano in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Matías do Vale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Adilson Trigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matías do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adilson Trigo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Adilson Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Goiaberira fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Australopitecos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
