Basílio Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Saraiva in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 played minutes Catucaba SC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Barbosa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Saraiva in the 37th minute of play forced Catucaba SC's goalkeeper Basílio Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 52 minutes, Agostinho Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catucaba SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hélder Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jano Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélder Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabiano Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Caracu EC booed when Catucaba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renan Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Caracu EC's protests and gave Bernardo de Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Caracu EC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo de Alcântara. Agostinho Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Barbosa in the 66th minute of play forced Caracu EC's goalkeeper Jano Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabiano Alagoano took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Ramos. Basílio Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Fabiano Alagoano succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 76th playminute.
