Claudinei Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Thomás de Toledo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinei Botelho. Esmaratita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomás de Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Raimundo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, FlaDiamonds's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Chaves came free, but Juarês Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Thomás de Toledo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Claudinei Botelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Raimundo Rosado struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Claudinei Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FlaDiamonds. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raimundo Rosado in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinei Botelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Raimundo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Esmaratita getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Zé Augusto Garcia hit a great ball. Lauro Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Claudinei Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FlaDiamonds's Mário Vianna managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kléberson Dracena in the 37 minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Mário Vianna notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Esmaratita's Claudinei Botelho. Claudinei Botelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Hílton Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinei Botelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raimundo Rosado's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Oséias Chaves made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, FlaDiamonds's Claudinei Botelho threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thomás de Toledo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Claudinei Botelho was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Thomás de Toledo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Thomás de Toledo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Claudinei Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomás de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Raimundo Rosado in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Claudinei Botelho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FlaDiamonds's Raimundo Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Esmaratita's zone, Lauro Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Botelho came out of the goal and Lauro Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Esmaratita getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Leandro Baiano hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mário Vianna during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes FlaDiamonds got a freekick which was hit by Mário Vianna. Gilson Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Claudinei Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás de Toledo in the 91st minute of the match. Claudinei Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Esmaratita! When the match was over FlaDiamonds could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Esmaratita throughout the match.
