Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, XVII de Agosto F.C's Geovanni Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Afonsinho Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Elias Pirani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonsinho Esteves. Gorino AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elias Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovanni Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Romário Vieira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gorino AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a rather tough play, Gorino AD's Giuseppe de Queirós got a free kick in the 54th minute. A very good chance for a goal. Elias Pirani succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 82nd playminute. Elias Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Esteves having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gorino AD's zone, Geovanni Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonsinho Esteves came out of the goal and Geovanni Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elias Pirani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonsinho Esteves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Afonsinho Esteves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Pirani in the 92nd minute. Marquinhos Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marquinhos Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gorino AD's Marquinhos Amaral got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The Gorino AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. XVII de Agosto F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
