After a rather tough play, Liverpool's Ramiro Linhares got a free kick in the 36th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélder Andrade made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Caucaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Vander to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Hélder Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Soares in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Geraldo Lago had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Andrade in the 64th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Marcelo Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Soares in the 66th minute of play. Marcelo Salles came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Caucaia's Hélder Andrade. But to his dismay, Hélder Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Marcelo Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Andrade in the 76th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Caucaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Hélder Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liverpool's Marcelo Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Soares in the 86th minute of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Hélder Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liverpool's Marcelo Salles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liverpool's goalkeeper Marcelo Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
