After a rather tough play, Ibitiguassu's Aleandro Lira got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Virgílio Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. Dalmo Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Salford booed when Ibitiguassu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Negri in the 69th minute of play forced Ibitiguassu's goalkeeper Guilherme Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
