After having played for 20 minutes, Didi Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avelar EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sanganha's goalkeeper Marcelo Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erivaldo Favoretto hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Fausto Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Marcelo Ferraz came out of the goal and Didi Negri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Fausto Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Severo in the 54th minute of the match. Marcelo Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 60 played minutes Sanganha got a freekick which was hit by Cido Xavier. With a little luck, Avelar EC's Fausto Gonçalves got control of the ball when Valdomiro Mandrak tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Avelar EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
