Rodolfo Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Ezequiel Damião scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodolfo Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. César Mumbach kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Patrício Toscano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Montenegro having to make a save. Patrício Toscano scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodolfo Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th minute, one of Marizopolis:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marizopolis. After 42 played minutes Tateto got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Chaves. Ulysses Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ulysses Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Berger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Luisão Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marizopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tateto the free kick. Luisão Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Rodolfo Montenegro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 58th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joaquim da Cunha. Dorival Chaves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rodolfo Montenegro came out and tried to block the shot, but Dorival Chaves slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Jacinto in the 65th minute of play forced Tateto's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Marizopolis got a freekick which was hit by César Mumbach. After 73 minutes, Conrado Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marizopolis and the Tateto players grew even worse after the yellow card. 78 minutes into the match, Marizopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Berger came free, but Rodolfo Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodolfo Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Berger in the 82nd minute of play. Rodolfo Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Berger in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Dé Zilles got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrício Toscano got free with Rodolfo Montenegro in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ezequiel Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tateto's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
