In the 6th match minute, Taubate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Amaral in the 8th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Taubate's goal looked a bit too open when Víktor Mattos came free, but Claudinho Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Aracoyaba FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Tomé Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Víktor Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. Taubate's Tomé Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Brasil having to interfere. If Frédson Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Luís Gustavo Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aracoyaba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taubate the free kick. After a rather tough play, Aracoyaba FC's Luís Gustavo Donato got a free kick in the 68th minute. When Mazinho Britto fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aracoyaba FC's protests and gave Mazinho Britto a yellow card for diving instead. Mazinho Britto hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Décio Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomé Godoi in the 73rd minute of the match. Tomé Godoi took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Décio Brasil. Décio Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Décio Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomé Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Aracoyaba FC's Cacá Amaral got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Cacá Amaral off the ground. A collision led to Aracoyaba FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Cacá Amaral hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Taubate's goalkeeper Claudinho Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vito Aguiar. Aracoyaba FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Taubate's much stronger midfield.
