Emílio Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Léo Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dinei Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Mandaguacu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Abreu couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the game, Mandaguacu's Emílio Coutinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Léo Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ronaldo Braga kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Roma AD's zone, Emílio Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Neves came out of the goal and Emílio Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Léo Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Léo Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Coutinho in the 29th minute of play. Emílio Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Léo Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mandaguacu. Dinei Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Léo Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Mandaguacu booed when Roma AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Léo Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dinei Abreu went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute Emílio Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

In the 53rd minute of the match Roma AD got a corner. Mandaguacu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guilherme Nascimento ran over to the corner to take the kick. Léo Neves made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Dinei Abreu sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the match, Mandaguacu's Emílio Coutinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Léo Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mandaguacu played a much better game than Roma AD and deserved their victory. The Roma AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
