Valparaiso's Jaime Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Faria in the 17th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe Damião during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute, Felipe Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Víktor Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pocos EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Víktor Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel de Amaral in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaime Faria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Víktor Faria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Faria was relentless in the 25th minute of the game.
