After 28 minutes, Luiz Fernando Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cova and the SARANDI F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cova's Luiz Fernando Salgado got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Flávio Bastos, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Percy Costa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SARANDI F.C.'s Charles Teles got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Dalmo Amaral sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percy Costa skillfully saved the ball. Evandro Costa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Percy Costa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Walmir Schmidt hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Caco Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th match minute, Cova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Zé Ceresso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, SARANDI F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Costa came free, but Percy Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Costa in the 65th minute of the match. Flávio Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Percy Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Bastos in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Percy Costa saved SARANDI F.C. from getting behind. Evandro Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Costa having to interfere. SARANDI F.C.'s Percy Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Bastos in the 74th minute of play. Percy Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Bastos in the 76th minute of the match. Zé Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Valdomiro Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
