An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Pombal in the 7th minute of play forced Coritiba Futebol Club's goalkeeper Maurinho Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Allan de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willian Moreno kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 17thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Barrejirnha SS's keeper Célio Eger was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Willian Moreno in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Célio Eger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Willian Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Célio Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inácio Neves's late challenge caught a Coritiba Futebol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Neves helped the player get up and apologised. Inácio Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Célio Eger acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 22nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fernandinho Leão. After having played for 23 minutes, Osvaldinho Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coritiba Futebol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldinho Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Célio Eger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Osvaldinho Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37thth minute of the game Romário Pombal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coritiba Futebol Club's Maurinho Gaúcho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maurinho Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute, Romário Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maurinho Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Ramalho in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Coritiba Futebol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Pombal came free, but Maurinho Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldinho Fonseca in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Eger saved Barrejirnha SS from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romário Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Romário Pombal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maurinho Gaúcho. That made the score 0-1 in the 63 minute of play. Adriano Ramalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Maurinho Gaúcho made a huge save. In a very dangerous position, a player in Barrejirnha SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! The crowd rose to their feet as Barrejirnha SS's Romário Pombal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maurinho Gaúcho. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. In the 82nd minute, Adriano Ramalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maurinho Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Coritiba Futebol Club's zone, Romário Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho Gaúcho came out of the goal and Romário Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Willian Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Célio Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, one of Coritiba Futebol Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arthur Carneiro shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Geovanni Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 102nd minute. Célio Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
