Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Vitinho Azevedo took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 minutes, Wanderson Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benfica and the Tupuio SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Pedro Luiz Mattos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vágner França was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tupuio SC's Vágner França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz Mattos in the 10th minute of play. In the 16th minute Vitinho Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edmundo Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Azevedo in the 19th minute of play forced Tupuio SC's goalkeeper Vágner França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Melo came free, but Marco de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luiz Mattos scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vágner França, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco de Sena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeu Ceresso in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Vitinho Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Vitinho Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pedro de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro de Senna couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes, Vitinho Azevedo made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Tupuio SC's Vágner França tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Benfica getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Vitinho Azevedo hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Benfica's goalkeeper Marco de Sena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romeu Ceresso. After a defensive mix-up in Tupuio SC's zone, Vitinho Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner França came out of the goal and Vitinho Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didi Melo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match, Vitinho Azevedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vágner França saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vitinho Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Vágner França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Melo in the 60th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Vitinho Azevedo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vágner França, 0-4. Marco de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Ceresso in the 72nd minute of the match. Didi Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Edmundo Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Netto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner França breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 75 minutes into the match, Tupuio SC's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Azevedo came free, but Vágner França reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 played minutes Tupuio SC got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Zanette. 78 minutes into the match, Tupuio SC's goalkeeper Vágner França had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitinho Azevedo. The supporters of Tupuio SC booed when Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute Romeu Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vitinho Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Vitinho Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitinho Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
