Régis Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Teles in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Paulo Renato de Souza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edmundo Bueno, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betão Teles in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis Perez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 31 minutes, Betão Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garibaldi EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fiori Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Régis Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Betão Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guedes's Régis Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Rosado in the 39th minute of play. Régis Perez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Augusto do Vale's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. When Benedito Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guedes's protests and gave Benedito Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. Benedito Carvalho hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Paulo Renato de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmundo Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Renato de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. If Paulo Renato de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Garibaldi EC's Fábio Brasil got a free kick in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Garibaldi EC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Fiori Bastos hit a great ball. Paulo Renato de Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundo Bueno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Olavo Rosado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garibaldi EC's Edmundo Bueno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Guedes's goalkeeper Régis Perez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Paulo Rosado. If Olavo Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Renato de Souza in the 90th minute of play forced Garibaldi EC's goalkeeper Edmundo Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the game, José Paulo Rosado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Régis Perez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Garibaldi EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guedes.
