After a rather tough play, Agudo's Umberto Cunha got a free kick in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's João Carlos de Senna broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Iuri Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iuri Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Iuri Senna hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Percy Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes, Borussia Dortmund's João Carlos de Senna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eurico Toledo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Borussia Dortmund reached it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Mendes to make the kick off. Eurico Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Eurico Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 79th match minute, Agudo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iuri Senna to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Válter Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The tension between the Agudo and the Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 90 played minutes Agudo got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Porto. Eurico Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Agudo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball.
