After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Manuel Urbano got a free kick in the 8th minute. Timbahuba SC's Geovânio Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mathias Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válter Braga having to interfere. Geovânio Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Válter Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gino de Senna's late challenge caught a Borussia Dortmund's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gino de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Timbahuba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Válter Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Neiva in the 28th minute of play. If Mathias Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Timbahuba SC's Geovânio Cordeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Válter Braga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lenílson Duarte's late challenge caught a Timbahuba SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lenílson Duarte helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Lenílson Duarte hit a great ball. Mathias Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 48 minutes, Mathias Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timbahuba SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Neiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Mathias Neiva made the kick off in the second half. Geovânio Cordeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Timbahuba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Lino de Azevedo came free, but Didi Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Neiva came free, but Válter Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mathias Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias Neiva in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válter Braga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Mathias Neiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Válter Braga was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. If Percy Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Mathias Neiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Válter Braga. Borussia Dortmund's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mathias Neiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of Timbahuba SC booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lenílson Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Válter Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Cordeiro in the 92nd minute of the match. Válter Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After 95 minutes of play Borussia Dortmund's Lenílson Duarte was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Lenílson Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
