Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gilmar Pereira took the kick off in the first half of the match. Elivélton Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elivélton Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in VPR FC's zone, Luís Paulo Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Quirino came out of the goal and Luís Paulo Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When VPR FC's Mauro da Costa in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jonatas's goalie prevented a goal. If Egídio Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldinho Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Jonatas's Gilmar Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Álvaro de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Gilmar Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24thth minute of the game Gilmar Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VPR FC's Alfredo Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mauro da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes, Ernesto de Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VPR FC and the Jonatas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th minute, Ernesto de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilmar Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind VPR FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Pereira in the 37th minute of play forced VPR FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Brodel in the 40th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Mauro da Costa made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro da Costa in the 52nd minute of play forced Jonatas's goalkeeper Elivélton Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, VPR FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Pereira came free, but Alfredo Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ernesto de Sena was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Ernesto de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Eusébio Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Alfredo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When William Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VPR FC's protests and gave William Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. William Bittencourt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Rafa Mineiro missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 61 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alfredo Quirino right hand side. In the 68th minute, Germano Fernandes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elivélton Rodrigues. The goal made the score 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Brodel in the 75th minute of play forced VPR FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Jonatas's Gilmar Pereira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Eusébio Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Alfredo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 87 minutes of play, Jonatas's Gilmar Pereira made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Jonatas's Eusébio Brodel, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Jonatas. Alfredo Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gilmar Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jonatas's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilmar Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
