Dinei Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eurico Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vladimir Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Oliveira in the 21st minute of play forced Saguoes's goalkeeper Dinei Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pedrão Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Saguoes's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Oliveira came free, but Dinei Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Florida booed when Saguoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Florida's Murillo Souza broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dinei Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Umberto Arósio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Wiliam Medeiros made a precise shot to the right of Pedrão Sabóia. Florida's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Florida's Pedrão Sabóia got control of the ball when Wiliam Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Fábio Oliveira made a kick off. Eurico Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Pedrão Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 59 minutes, Eurico Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saguoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Saguoes getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Evandro Berger hit a great ball. Pedrão Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Batista in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Florida getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Aníbal Vinhas hit a great ball. Wiliam Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wiliam Medeiros succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. In the 81st minute Luiz Fábio Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Florida's Aníbal Vinhas got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Wiliam Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Pedrão Sabóia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saguoes. If Wiliam Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrão Sabóia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eurico Batista's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. When Saguoes's Eurico Batista in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Florida's goalie prevented a goal. Wiliam Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Saguoes had won after a very even match.
