Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Saguoes's Eurico Batista started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itaquahy! Belmiro Sabóia had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Gilberto Melo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 5 minutes into the game, Saguoes's Gilberto Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Belmiro Sabóia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Saguoes booed when Itaquahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalmo Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Wiliam Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Saguoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam Medeiros couldn't finish the play. After 13 played minutes Saguoes got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Batista. Dinei Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Mendonça in the 14th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Wiliam Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wiliam Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Sabóia having to interfere. Pedrão Melo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Belmiro Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Wiliam Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Sabóia having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Eurico Batista in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 35 minutes into the match, Itaquahy's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Medeiros came free, but Belmiro Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Batista in the 36th minute of play forced Itaquahy's goalkeeper Belmiro Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Gilberto Melo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Belmiro Sabóia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Carneiro got free with Dinei Arruda in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Celsinho Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Dinei Arruda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaquahy. Dinei Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Mendonça in the 54th minute of the match. Wiliam Medeiros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Belmiro Sabóia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilberto Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alberto Martins shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Celsinho Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eurico Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eurico Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Saguoes's Eurico Batista got a free kick in the 65th minute. Celsinho Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, José Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itaquahy's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Celsinho Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaquahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinei Arruda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adrianinho Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrianinho Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Adrianinho Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dinei Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Saguoes's Eurico Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saguoes's Dinei Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Mendonça in the 91st minute of play. Celsinho Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Itaquahy players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
