Tricolor Esporte Clube's Dedé Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dragon Futebol Clube's Dé Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Gaúcho in the 21st minute of play. Vitinho Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute of the match, Vitinho Gaúcho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dé Pernambucano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dedé Ramos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dé Pernambucano came out and tried to block the shot, but Dedé Ramos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. 41 minutes into the match, Tricolor Esporte Clube's Fred Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dé Pernambucano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Vitinho Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Vitinho Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cássio Loyola hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitinho Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. The Dragon Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dé Pernambucano should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Dragon Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Ramos came free, but Dé Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hélio Guedes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dé Pernambucano. Dragon Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tricolor Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedé Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dedé Ramos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dé Pernambucano saved Dragon Futebol Clube from getting behind. If Vitinho Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Tricolor Esporte Clube had won after a very even match.
