When Arnaldo Saraiva came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Lafacity fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Saraiva couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lafacity booed when Nipoa EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvaldo Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glauco de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Ceresso having to interfere. Glauco de Queiroz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Edvaldo Ceresso made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco de Queiroz got free with Edvaldo Ceresso in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
