The Lafacity fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Mineiro should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo de Medeiros in the 17th minute of play forced Lafacity's goalkeeper Basílio Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo de Medeiros in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basílio Mineiro saved Lafacity from getting behind. Jairo de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Basílio Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Carlos Fernando Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Glauco de Queiroz put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kaká Baptista. In the 56th minute, Glauco de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arí Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Saraiva got free with Kaká Baptista in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The tension between the Parai and the Lafacity players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Parai's Wilson da Costa got a free kick in the 70th minute. The corner led Parai's Hélio Macedo to fire away a dangerous shot which Basílio Mineiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Lafacity's Arnaldo Saraiva in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Parai's goalie prevented a goal. Lafacity were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
