Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Leonel Seco got the match started through his kick off. Goianorte's Leonel Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alex Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nelsinho Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Geraldo Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Enéas Pirani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Canguaretama's Nelsinho Cearense in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goianorte's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th match minute, Goianorte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Pires to maneuver through the defense. Geraldo Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Loureiro in the 28th minute of the match. When Cícero de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goianorte's protests and gave Cícero de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Goianorte got a freekick which was hit by Cícero de Azevedo. Canguaretama's Nelsinho Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 46 played minutes Goianorte got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Seco. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Alex Loureiro made the kick off in the second half. Eliézer Favoretto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Nelsinho Cearense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nelsinho Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geraldo Costa having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Cearense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Geraldo Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geraldo Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Alex Loureiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geraldo Costa. That made the score 0-2 in the 76 minute of play. If Alex Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Nelsinho Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canguaretama's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geraldo Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reynaldo Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rony Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Canguaretama defense, Doni Couto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rony Gerber. The Canguaretama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rony Gerber should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the game, Doni Couto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Rony Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
