The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elói Prestes during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Elói Prestes hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Hernani Xavier came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Baxios EC's Elói Prestes. But to his dismay, Elói Prestes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Porto Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Domingues came free, but Hernani Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernani Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Domingues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernani Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Domingues in the 35th minute of the match. Baxios EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Washington Pereira scored to the left of an out of position Ulisses Lima, making the score, 1-1. When Inácio Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Baxios EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Domingues couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Porto Futebol Clube's Washington Pereira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Washington Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Inácio Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arí Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Ulisses Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Baxios EC booed when Porto Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Baxios EC's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Vasconcelos came free, but Ulisses Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Washington Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Lima having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Pereira in the 79th minute of play forced Baxios EC's goalkeeper Ulisses Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Baxios EC booed when Porto Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arí Vasconcelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulisses Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Washington Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arí Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulisses Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arí Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. Washington Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ulisses Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Washington Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Porto Futebol Clube were the better team. Porto Futebol Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
