Maurício Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldemar Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Porteiras's Renato Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimir Moura in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Valle in the 12th minute of play forced Curio EC's goalkeeper Maurício Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Pernambucano having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armindo Mineiro in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Pernambucano saved Porteiras from getting behind. In the 19th minute Vladimir Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Porteiras's Waldemar Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maurício Moraes came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Porteiras's Waldemar Antunes. But to his dismay, Waldemar Antunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vladimir Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Pernambucano having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Frank Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the game, Vladimir Moura recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Renato Pernambucano. Vladimir Moura showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Waldemar Antunes made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Curio EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Moura to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Jardel Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonel Bertassi's late challenge caught a Porteiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Bertassi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Porteiras booed when Curio EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Moraes having to interfere. In the 87th minute of the match Beto Toledo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maurício Moraes skillfully saved the ball. After 91 minutes, Oscar Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Porteiras and the Curio EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Porteiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Jardel Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Moraes having to interfere.
