Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Erivaldo Toledo got the match started through his kick off. Cafesal's Fabrício Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Aratuhype's zone, Cléber de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laerte Novaes came out of the goal and Cléber de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabriel Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Laerte Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Raphael Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laerte Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Laerte Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléber de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Novaes having to interfere. Bebeto Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Dionísio in the 28th minute of the match. If Erivaldo Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Baiano made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 40thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Laerte Novaes would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Bebeto Lucas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Válbson Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Gabriel Baiano struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Laerte Novaes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cafesal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cléber de Amorim made a kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Aratuhype:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cafesal:s goal. Cléber de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laerte Novaes having to make a save. After 59 minutes, Patrick Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aratuhype and the Cafesal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Válbson Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Bebeto Lucas made a huge save.
