Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rafael Vale started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Guaimbe getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Ian Porto hit a great ball. Paulista F.C.'s Fausto Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelsinho Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulista F.C.'s Walmyr Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo do Nascimento in the 11th minute of play. Fausto Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Nelsinho Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Severino Nóbrega made a precise shot to the right of Walmyr Paiva. Paulista F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 18 played minutes Guaimbe got a freekick which was hit by Renan Quintal. Nelsinho Marquez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Guaimbe's Nelsinho Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Guaimbe from getting a goal against them. Cristiano Machado's late challenge caught a Paulista F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Machado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Severino Nóbrega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Guaimbe's Murilo do Nascimento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walmyr Paiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Severino Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Paiva having to interfere. Nelsinho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Vale in the 48th minute of the match. The Paulista F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guaimbe were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murilo do Nascimento was the one to do the kick off. Fausto Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Machado in the 58th minute of play forced Guaimbe's goalkeeper Nelsinho Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. If Severino Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Renan Quintal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Paulista F.C.'s Igor Trancoso broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Paulista F.C.'s Walmyr Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Paulista F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 74th match minute, Paulista F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. After 75 minutes, Samuel Paraibano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paulista F.C. and the Guaimbe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, one of Paulista F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paulista F.C.. Walmyr Paiva had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Pedro Cardozo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Murilo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Paiva having to interfere. Paulista F.C.'s Walmyr Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo do Nascimento in the 84th minute of play. Severino Nóbrega could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Walmyr Paiva made a huge save. Murilo do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute, Cristiano Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Guaimbe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guaimbe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
