The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Luciano Meireles put in a rough tackle. 13 minutes into the game, one of Guando EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Sericita SS. Tiago Gabriel Teles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cássio Cardozo. 2-1. Adhemar Santana scored 2-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cássio Cardozo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Osvaldinho Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luiz Damião in the 30th minute of play. The throw-in from Bernardinho Barbosa in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Guando EC's Álvaro do Valle. In the 35th minute, André Luiz Damião reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Osvaldinho Simão. The goal made the score 3-2. 38 minutes into the match, Sericita SS's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Damião came free, but Osvaldinho Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If André Luiz Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, André Luiz Damião dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Osvaldinho Simão, 4-2. If André Luiz Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

Sericita SS's Osvaldinho Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco do Nascimento in the 74th minute of play. If Caco do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guando EC's André Luiz Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Oscar Correia came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Guando EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Correia couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, André Luiz Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guando EC's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luiz Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldinho Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute of the match, Fred Campidelis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cássio Cardozo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Sericita SS booed when Guando EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guando EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
