In the 7th minute Marco Tepedino suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Pedro Luiz Fontes's late challenge caught a PWs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luiz Fontes helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Luiz Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Bebeto Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Nado SS's zone, Patrício Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Donatello came out of the goal and Patrício Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, Nado SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Fontes to maneuver through the defense. PWs were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Nado SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Agnaldo Leal took the corner. Patrício Viana might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bebeto Donatello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrício Viana ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Nado SS getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Wilson Viana hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as PWs's Patrício Viana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bebeto Donatello. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. Agnaldo Leal struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Bebeto Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PWs. Agnaldo Leal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bebeto Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Walmyr Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Enéas de Mendonça scored 3-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bebeto Donatello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Nado SS booed when PWs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Donatello didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wilson Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Agnaldo Leal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bebeto Donatello having to make a save. In the 56th minute, Agnaldo Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Patrício Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Nado SS's Dagoberto da Mata got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, a hard, long distance shot from Agnaldo Leal hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. When Enéas de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the PWs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Rui Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Agnaldo Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agnaldo Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto Donatello having to interfere. If Agnaldo Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Nado SS's Enrique Pontes got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Wilson Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrício Viana couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. PWs fully deserved thier win.
