Adalberto de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guga Zonta might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredão Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guga Zonta ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Evandro Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredão Toscano was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Imarui EC's zone, Guga Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredão Toscano came out of the goal and Guga Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Moco were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adolfo Massa was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute of the match Zé Roberto Botelho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredão Toscano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Evandro Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Toscano having to interfere. Imarui EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evandro Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guga Zonta in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredão Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 94th minute, Guga Zonta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alfredão Toscano. The goal made the score 1-5. Moco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
