In the 11th minute, Alfredo Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, Faminha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Faminha's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto de Carvalho came free, but Luiz Eduardo Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If José Augusto de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmo Lago to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernandinho Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernandinho Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fernandinho Moura hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 54 minutes into the match, Faminha's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Guimarães came free, but Luiz Eduardo Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flávio Guimarães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Eduardo Marques having to make a save. Flávio Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flávio Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Luiz Eduardo Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute Balancas were awarded a corner. Walmyr da Mata went to the cornerflag to take it.
