After 5 minutes, Marcos Fantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piacaba SS and the Jubaia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Piacaba SS getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Marcos Fantini hit a great ball. Marcos Fantini came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Walmir Loureiro could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Fantini got free with Walmir Loureiro in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Jubaia getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Luiz Fábio da Silva hit a great ball. Walmir Loureiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Geovanni da Mata. When Flavinho Hermes fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jubaia's protests and gave Flavinho Hermes a yellow card for diving instead. When Flavinho Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Jubaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Hermes couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd match minute, Jubaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Fantini's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Walmir Loureiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jubaia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Benê Medeiros scored to the left of an out of position Walmir Loureiro, making the score, 1-0. With a little luck, Jubaia's Walmir Loureiro got control of the ball when Marcos Fantini tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavinho Hermes made a kick off. Walmir Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Piacaba SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Flavinho Hermes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Flavinho Hermess short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Rui Melo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Flavinho Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavinho Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Rui Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir Loureiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Fantini's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Walmir Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jubaia were furious when Jairo Xavier was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 89 minutes into the game, one of Jubaia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Benê Medeiros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walmir Loureiro having to make a save. The supporters of Jubaia booed when Piacaba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piacaba SS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Jubaia for a fine match.
