Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zeca Tepedino took the kick off in the first half of the match. Zeca Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Elias Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Christiano Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gugu Corrêa, 8 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dito Alvarenga in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caetano Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Dito Alvarenga came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Matta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Cipriano Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dito Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Caetano Catarinense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeca Tepedino in the 19th minute of play forced Matta's goalkeeper Elias Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Matta getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Paraense hit a great ball. The nice shot from Leopoldo Bertassi in the 23rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Caetano Catarinense had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Albuquerque during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Matta booed when Rufinos AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Marcinho Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Rufinos AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Meirelles couldn't finish the play. Elias Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcinho Meirelles in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32ndth minute of the game Dito Alvarenga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rufinos AD's Caetano Catarinense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caetano Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Leopoldo Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Caetano Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Matta booed when Rufinos AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Cipriano Albuquerque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 47 in the game by Leopoldo Bertassi from a close distance when the talented Caetano Catarinense managed to make a qualified save. Rufinos AD's players were relieved. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, one of Rufinos AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rufinos AD. In the 52nd minute there was a penalty for Matta. Gugu Corrêa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Caetano Catarinense. 1-0. Caetano Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Bertassi in the 56th minute of play. When Egídio Salgado fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matta's protests and gave Egídio Salgado a yellow card for diving instead. Egídio Salgado hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Rufinos AD got a freekick which was hit by Remo Tasso. After having played for 74 minutes, Leopoldo Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Rufinos AD's Caetano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Alvarenga in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Matta booed when Rufinos AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Rufinos AD's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Bertassi came free, but Caetano Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dito Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rufinos AD's Caetano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Alvarenga in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Marcinho Meirelles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elias Linares. Matta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcinho Meirelles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Dito Alvarenga sped through Rufinos AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Caetano Catarinense. Christiano Pena hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Marcinho Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rufinos AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcinho Meirelles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Matta fully deserved thier win.
